Beaunity Newsletter #4

Respect to the late, great, David Lynch. One of the strangest success stories from the Hollywood system. His films are so otherworldly and at times, deeply unsettling. Beauty’s eye of the beholder.

On Unity, David was an outspoken advocate of Transcendental Meditation (or TM). Sharing little of that tradition, i can only say that his accounts of his Oneness experiences from his practice resonate precisely with my own.

My path to discovering this was at times very painful; however grateful i am for having arrived to it. Here’s hoping yours – should you choose to experience it in this life – doesn’t come through those doors. Wishing you the revelations of mine and David’s truth, without the suffering.

Grateful to have seen Prince live several times before his passing. The first with my mom where our smartphones were forbidden. If you can believe it, people actually had to pay attention! 😉

Saw him again, about two years before his passing with only another 150 or so people. A small venue show he was famous for popping up on the sly when he did his stadium shows. The size celebrity & intimacy, mutually inclusive in this soul. i stood 5 feet from him and danced for about 2.5 hours. No security, none of the hits. Just the tunes he loved playing at that time with his band. Unforgettable.

Silver backs. Circa 2012. Our guide was one of the late Dian Fossey’s – Ms. Gorillas in the Mist – original porters.

At one point, one of the larger females in the gorilla family became aggressive toward one of our group. Our guide King Konged her to submission. It felt so surreal to witness. The man basically spoke gorilla.

Not to be attempted with the alpha, however. Weighing around 500 pounds, we were all instructed – should he flare up – to look down. To cower. Our instructions: “absolutely under no circumstances should you make eye contact with him as he’ll think you’re challenging him.”

Can you guess what i found myself doing to test those waters?
