Beaunity Newsletter #3

The Beaunity Newsletter promises to deliver the most Beauty and proof of our Unity - with each other and Nature - from any newsletter on the web.

Where do words, like “identity,” come from?

As Alan Watts once said: “we seldom realize that our most private thoughts and emotions are not actually our own. For we think in terms of languages and images which we did not invent, but which were given to us by our society.”

Words form the basis of language. They’re incredibly fascinating. Their history, their evolution.

How do words end up in the dictionary?

Who owns the dictionary? And who decides on the words and their meaning?

Where did ‘identity’ come from and how has its meaning changed?

How many words are added to the dictionary every year?

Perfect 10 record of the week Hiroshi Yoshimura: Green

i’m curating a list of perfect records on my website. Click the link on the image to see those i’ve selected so far. This library will grow over time. The first of its kind on the web.

This week’s recommendation is from Hiroshi Yoshimura – considered one of the world’s greatest ambient artists. He recorded two versions of this record, one for Western audiences with the found sounds of Nature included – delicate sounds of crickets, creek beds and the chirping of birds. The original version is purely electronic. i can’t decide which is better but i find myself playing the original more often.

i hope you find time to slow down and enjoy the soft electronica of a true master.

Note: your suggestions are welcome on the discussion forum on my site or in reply to this newsletter. Thank you!

Photograph of the Week - Eggs from (Inner) Space

i’ve added to my photography library at the link on this image. There you’ll find my favorites from one of the most incredible places in the East. Look for Mt Fuji Land on the rotating globe.

Choosing my favourite photos from my two trips to these islands has been the hardest selection to-date. i want to make sure that it’s not a photo dump for you tho. i truly care about sharing with you the ‘most’ beautiful photos from each of the places i’ve visited. i will post to my Substack more photos and reflections from my travels. On www.lukeaulin.com will be a selection of the finest. Less noise, more signal. Focused on Beauty and Unity.

Your feedback is welcome on anything you’d like to see more or less of. What Beauty you particularly feel moved you the most from what i share.

This is not AI. It’s me. And i want a personal relationship with my connections. i truly care about sharing Beauty and Unity with you. Hearing from you about what resonates is a true gift. Thank you.
